Optional AI — Always Your Choice

Fetch & Flow Lore Studio works fully without AI.

If you choose to use AI features, you do so by providing your own API key from a supported provider. This keeps you in control of costs, data, and usage — as well as avoiding subscriptions or hidden limits.

What is an API Key?

An API key is a private access token that allows software to talk to an AI service on your behalf.

Think of it like a personal access card:

  • It belongs to you

  • You control it

  • You can remove or replace it at any time

You are not creating an account with Fetch & Flow — you’re connecting your own AI account if you want to

Why Bring Your Own Key?

We deliberately chose a “bring your own key” model because it:

  • Avoids subscriptions and artificial usage caps

  • Keeps costs transparent and predictable

  • Ensures your creative work isn’t locked into a platform

  • Prevents us from reselling, training on, or storing your content

Fetch & Flow is a tool, not a service that monetises your writing.

What Happens to Your Writing?

  • Your text stays on your machine

  • AI requests are sent only when you explicitly use AI features

  • Fetch & Flow does not store your writing or your API key on external servers

Your writing is never uploaded “in the background”.

Supported AI Providers

Fetch & Flow Lore Studio supports selected third-party AI providers.

Currently supported:

  • OpenAI

More providers may be added over time.

How Much Does It Cost?

AI usage costs are determined entirely by your chosen provider.

Fetch & Flow does not add mark-ups, usage limits, or hidden fees.

You can monitor or restrict spending directly with your AI provider at any time.

  Currently supported API Keys
    - OpenAI, Anthropic , Google
- (Voice Studio)ElevenLabs

Important Notes About API Keys

  • Never share your API key publicly

  • Fetch & Flow stores your key locally on your machine

  • You can remove or disable AI features at any time

  • All costs are billed directly by the AI provider you sign up for and use, not Fetch & Flow

Using Voice Studio with ElevenLabs (BYOK)

Voice Studio uses optional ElevenLabs integration for text-to-speech generation.

To enable this feature, you must provide your own ElevenLabs API key

  • Bring Your Own Key

    • Fetch & Flow Lore Studio does not issue, host, or resell ElevenLabs API keys.

    • You must supply your own key through the app settings to access voice generation features.

  • Local Storage & Security

    • Your ElevenLabs API key is stored securely on your local device using the app’s secure credential storage.

    • It is not embedded in your project files and is never transmitted anywhere except directly to ElevenLabs for voice-related requests.

  • How Your Key Is Used

    • Your API key is used solely to authenticate voice-related requests to ElevenLabs, including:

    • Listing available voices

    • Generating text-to-speech audio

    • Retrieving alignment/timestamp data (if enabled)

    • No other data processing occurs outside of these voice-related interactions.

  • Billing & Usage

    • All voice generation usage is billed directly by ElevenLabs under your own ElevenLabs account and plan.

    • Fetch & Flow does not collect or manage voice generation billing.

  • Permissions

    • Your ElevenLabs API key must have appropriate permissions (such as voice list and generation access).

    • If permissions are missing or restricted, voice generation may fail.

Fetch & Flow Lore Studio does not proxy, store, or process voice requests outside of facilitating the direct connection between your device and ElevenLabs.

According to ElevenLabs’ API documentation and privacy policy, data submitted through their API is processed for the purpose of generating audio output.

ElevenLabs may temporarily retain API request data for security, abuse-prevention, and service reliability purposes, in line with their published policies.

This means your text is used solely to generate the requested voice output under your ElevenLabs account.
