Privacy Policy

Last updated: 08 April 2026

Fetch & Flow (“we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the Fetch & Flow Lore Studio desktop application (“the App”).

1. Overview

Fetch & Flow Lore Studio is a local-first desktop application designed for writing, worldbuilding, and creative planning.

The App is designed to operate primarily on your device.

Fetch & Flow does not require user accounts and does not operate servers that store or process user writing content.

Specifically:

  • We do not require user accounts

  • We do not collect or sell personal data

  • We do not track user behavior

  • We do not store your writing or project data on our servers

Most functionality operates entirely on your device.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

Fetch & Flow does not collect, store, or track the following:

  • Personal identifiers (such as name, email address, or IP address)

  • Account information (the App does not require accounts)

  • Usage analytics or telemetry

  • Location data

  • Payment information

  • User-generated creative content

All creative content you create remains stored locally on your device unless you choose to export it.

3. Local Data Storage

All project files and writing data are stored locally on your device.

Examples of locally stored data may include:

  • Lore Bible entries

  • Story arcs and planning data

  • Scenes, chapters, and notes

  • AI chat history used within the App

  • Voice Studio session data

  • User interface preferences

  • Local speech recognition models

  • Generated audio files

These files are stored in locations chosen by the user or within the application’s local data directory.

Fetch & Flow does not upload or sync your files to external servers.

4. AI & Voice Features and Third-Party Processing

The App includes optional AI-assisted writing and voice generation features.

These features operate under a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model.

To use AI or voice features, you must provide your own API key for a supported third-party provider.

Supported providers may include:

  • OpenAI (AI text generation)

  • Anthropic Claude (AI text generation)

  • Google Gemini (AI text generation)

  • ElevenLabs (text-to-speech voice generation)

Your API keys are stored securely on your device using operating system-level secure credential storage.

API keys are never transmitted to Fetch & Flow.

AI & Voice Requests

When AI or voice features are used:

  • Text you submit (such as prompts, selected writing content, or dialogue) is sent directly from your device to the selected third-party provider.

  • The data sent may include prompts, writing content, story context, or chat history depending on the feature used.

  • Voice generation features may transmit user-selected text to a voice provider to generate audio output.

Fetch & Flow does not log, proxy, store, or retain this content.

Use of AI providers is subject to the privacy policies and terms of the respective provider.

5. Local AI Models

The App also supports running AI models locally using software such as Ollama.

When local AI models are used:

  • Prompts and writing content are processed entirely on your device.

  • Generated responses are produced locally by the installed model.

Fetch & Flow does not receive, transmit, or store this data when local AI models are used.

6. Microphone and Dictation Features

The App may request microphone access when you use optional dictation features.

When dictation is used:

  • Audio is captured locally on your device.

  • Speech recognition is performed locally using offline Whisper-based speech recognition models.

  • Audio data is not transmitted to external speech recognition services.

Temporary audio files may be created during transcription and are automatically removed after processing.

7. Local AI and Speech Recognition Model Downloads

To enable optional AI or speech recognition features, the App may download machine learning model files from third-party repositories such as:

  • Hugging Face

  • Other public model distribution platforms

These downloads contain model files only and do not include user data or writing content.

8. Optional Reference Lookups

The App includes optional writing reference tools such as:

  • dictionary definitions

  • thesaurus suggestions

  • encyclopedia summaries

When these tools are used, the searched term may be sent to external services including:

  • DictionaryAPI

  • Wikipedia

  • Datamuse

Only the lookup term is transmitted. No project files, writing content, or personal data are sent.

9. Image Generation

The current version of the App does not include image generation features.

No image files are transmitted to external services.

10. Network Access

The App only accesses the internet when:

  • You explicitly enable and use AI features

  • You generate voice narration using a voice provider

  • You use optional reference lookup tools

  • The App downloads local AI or speech recognition models

  • You open external links (such as documentation or community resources)

The App does not include advertising services, analytics tracking systems, or background telemetry.

11. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect user data.

These include:

  • Secure OS-level storage for API keys

  • No plaintext storage of sensitive credentials

  • Local-first architecture that avoids central data storage

Most user content is stored locally in standard file formats on your device.

12. Children’s Privacy

The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

13. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as the App evolves.

Any updates will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.

14. Data Controller and Jurisdiction

Fetch & Flow is the data controller for the Fetch & Flow Lore Studio application.

Because the App is designed to operate locally on the user’s device and does not collect or store personal data, Fetch & Flow generally does not process personal data directly.

Users who enable optional AI or voice features interact directly with the selected third-party provider under that provider’s privacy policy and terms of service.
